On August 28, 2019, we will be ending support for Roblox on Windows XP and Vista. This means that anyone running these operating systems will need to upgrade to Windows 7 or above to continue playing. Why is this happening? These operating systems are outdated and unsupported by Microsoft, which means they no longer receive security patches.
Roblox supported Windows XP?? Vista was pretty advance for it's time, I had a pc that could run roblox games easily. Vista wasn't the best, but it definitely was decent enough. It depends on hardware, you can still play on them, I used Vista for roblox like 3 years ago and it was fine. The Roblox Player doesn't work properly under Wine or Proton.

For Windows 8/8.1 you will need to run Roblox in Desktop Mode, as Metro Mode (the tiled start-screen) is not currently supported.
Roblox is ending support for Windows Vista™ and Windows® XP! Is there any way to bring back an older version of Roblox after it ends support for Vista and XP like people did with steam because i don't want to have to upgrade to Windows® 7+ just to play a game...
 Ahoy there!

Experience points (commonly abbreviated as XP) are a value that increases the player's Rank when earned. Each Rank has an amount of XP assigned to it that, when reached, will allow the player to progress to the next Rank. Ranks reset at the beginning of a new season, along with the introduction of new Rank rewards.
We have no current plans to end support for Windows 7. It's still very popular, and so unofficially, I would say it's not likely to happen any time soon.

Solution 1: Disable Your Antivirus Sometimes the Roblox installer has problems gaining enough permission on your computer to access certain files needed for the installation to go through. This often means that your antivirus program is blocking the tool!
A solution that did not require extended kernel was posted more than a year ago, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it no longer works:

Because until @win32 will implement changes to 32bit kernel32 there is no way how to play roblox. Maybe virtualization? or dualboot? just don’t use Windows 10
I had a whole month to inspect the code, and since i dont understand anything, i was searching through the code and i realised the source code has VMProtect, so you need to erase that from the source code roblox will run but the source code wasn't leaked yet.
But I succesfully ran roblox in virtual machine? Are you sure, that vmprotect is active?

Ahoy there! This topic would probably attract more attention in MSFN's Windows XP forum. Perhaps @dencorso would consider relocating it? XP has a larger community with more hackers. Your thread could use the Roblox link Support for Windows XP and Vista ending soon. Sorry, but I'm not a gamer myself.

I think it was the right choice for ROBLOX to end support for XP and Vista, The average ROBLOX player (which are mostly kids and early teens) plays the game on Mobile, or Windows 7, 8.1 or 10, or rarely XBOX ONE
It has occurred to me that the reason why a developer would go the route of stopping their program from launching on XP (rather than saying, it might not work properly from version x going forward) is that the companies are taking this step for data integrity.
Right you are! Unfortunately, it's beginning to look like you are the only MSFN member running Vista or XP who is really concerned about Roblox support - or perhaps there is simply no solution.
As if they ( third party software developers) would give one nickel whether someone's setup is secure or not; what is the underlying truth inside this PR talk is that Microsoft themselves make it gradually impossible for third party software developers to target older OSes with their (M$'s) updated Windows SDK s!
I’m an 18 year old female. I’ve been playing roblox since I was 13. I’m a quiet player, I don’t get involved in drama, I just watch and find it amusing because I used to be like that but I still enjoy the games. I’m still considered a “teen” in some respects but I am also aware I am a legal adult.
