There are many features provided for groups on Roblox. A maximum of 18 ranks can be set, along with certain allowed privileges and the amount of power a rank may have over another. If a rank is given enough power to do so, members may force (exile) a member to leave a group, add clothes, models, meshes, and decals for sale to the group store, create "shouts" for all members in the group to see, have a group wall, and add allies and enemies. Revamp. On December 13, 2018, a group revamp was announced privately, which changed the group UI but does not introduce new features. The revamp was only available for members of the Roblox Beta Program . The new group UI doesn't have the clans feature and was revealed in the initial post that clans are being removed.
However, in an interview in early 2021, CEO David Baszucki confirmed that the feature to rename groups would eventually be released into ROBLOX. The community has criticized groups for being botted in order to appear to have a larger fanbase than what they really have.
Certain gear items are set to expire after a certain amount of time from being purchased by a user. These gear items are typically much cheaper than similar gear items that do not expire. The gear expiration feature is no longer being used.
Most users choose to disallow certain genres of gear from being taken into their places. This means that even though users own the gear and it's in their user's inventory, it will not show up in-game. Other users, however, choose to only allow a genre of gear that matches that of their game.
