Roblox has humans on each moderation team and that includes image moderation. The most a bot might do is flag an image for manual review or check a new asset against a previously declined one: a bot itself does not accept or reject images. If you have trouble uploading an asset, message the Moderation Review Requests group.
In order to simplify the process, think of moderated content on ROBLOX as either “pre moderated” or “post moderated.” Pre-moderated content, like images, decals, and t-shirts, to name a few, are moderated and approved before they ever hit our website.
Players were able to view their moderation history through their account settings up until 2015. Currently, Roblox uses CommunitySift as an automated chat filter and moderation software used by other children's games like Habbo Hotel and MovieStarPlanet.

Roblox uses AI to pre-screen content such as text, images, and audio but only human moderators will take action on accounts. Roblox employs a team of over 400 human moderators to review reports and take action on accounts.

The bottom line is, Roblox desperately needs to put in the effort to fix their moderation system. This cannot be swept under the rug any longer. The quality of the moderation on this website is simply unacceptable, and it needs major improvements if Roblox wants to be taken seriously on the big stage.
Moderators are members of the Roblox staff team who moderate the website to ensure assets and other player-generated content, such as forum posts, thumbnails, decals and any other graphical content remained safe and appropriate for all Roblox players.
Moderators cannot see any privatized information on the website. This includes private profile information.
Game moderators are trusted professionals hired as game masters. Their tasks include the maintenance of online gaming platforms free from inappropriate, illegal content. Generally, moderators ensure that players adhere to the game's rules and guidelines.
There's no specific amount of time moderation will take, but usually it will take anywhere between an hour and a day. If it takes any longer than 48 hours and you're certain the icon hasn't been moderated then I would recommend you reupload it, but this is very unlikely to occur.
$12 per hourHow much does a Moderator at Roblox make? The typical Roblox Moderator salary is $12 per hour. Moderator salaries at Roblox can range from $11 - $16 per hour.
Moderators are contracted through a temp agency, so we're not real employees. Have to work with people who don't always understand our culture well enough to do our job, because Roblox decided to outsource to India.

You can get banned 3 times before you get a perma bann. 1 day ban – 24 hours from the time the moderation was initiated.
This type of ban is reserved for very severe violations of the Terms of Service or federal law. All players on the banned accounts' IP Address are blocked for 7 days and will see a 403 error when trying to access the Roblox website.
ROBLOX’s moderation system has two key strengths that make it the best choice for protecting our community. One is that our developers have designed it from the ground up to be highly adaptable and maintainable. The second strength is the moderation team, which is active all the time. Not only are they on top of responding to reports, they are constantly monitoring for any potential flare-ups.
Upon reporting another user, the moderators will look at the offense and make a decision. Disciplinary action is handled on a case-by-case basis, and is always between ROBLOX and the user (we’re not out to humiliate anyone, we’re just working to keep things safe). Consequences are chosen based on the severity of the offense, as well as the users’ track record.
First off, ROBLOX features a built-in language filter that will automatically notify a moderator when a swear word, of any kind and in any context, is used. Swearing is not allowed on ROBLOX. If you swear, we will be notified.
Post moderation happens far less, but it does occur. We shut down any place that encourages dating of any kind, and any places that may negatively affect our users (like something that resembles the twin towers, or New Orleans after the hurricane, etc).
In order to simplify the process, think of moderated content on ROBLOX as either “pre moderated” or “post moderated.” Pre-moderated content, like images, decals, and t-shirts, to name a few, are moderated and approved before they ever hit our website. We’ve tried to streamline the user experience by allowing users to alter aspects of, say, their t-shirt (setting price points for example), while waiting for approval.
In a Roblox blog post, Becky Herndon, the Community Manager of Roblox, discusses how the Roblox moderation system works. She first notes that moderated content can be grouped into two simplified categories: "pre-moderated" content and "post-moderated" content. Assets like shirts and decals are pre-approved by the moderation team before they are broadcasted to the website. Though rarer, post moderation occurs if an asset needs to be taken down, like if a place is found to violate the place creation guidelines after it is published.
The moderation system is the system used by moderators and admins alike to determine the appropriateness or content and users. Players were able to view their moderation history through their account settings up until 2015.
Though not confirmed that Roblox utilizes the user reputation system, it can explain the frequently-criticized phenomenon of players being moderated for content that other players receive no reprimands for [citation needed]. Many users frequently criticize that appropriate words, such as "my", "I", "don't" are occasionally flagged by the filter. As Roblox can set the filtering level of the software, it is assumed that they initially had the software filter at a higher level and cause it to flag more content. After the closure of the Roblox Forums, some users have received moderation action against their account for forum posts that they made years prior to the moderation action. It is assumed that this could have happened if the current filter is set to a higher filtering level than the filter when the forum post was initially made. As the content still exists on the Roblox platform, the filtering system is able to flag it as inappropriate and cause the poster to receive a warning or a ban, even if it was deemed appropriate at the time of the posting.
