1 Find shards and collect them, they appear as beam of light in the sky. 2 Fighting aggressive creatures will give you 1-2 shard (s) at a time 3 Fighting passive creatures will not give you shards as of 2020
You can get up to around 30 shards per fallen shard (on average, a newly fallen shard will give 3-8 shards, but larger ones usually give an average of 9-16 shards). The colors of fallen shards do matter. White, yellow, and sometimes purple and blue shards give a less amount than the Red and Black shards.

Multiple players can collect the same fallen shard. Over time, uncollected shards will shrink, losing value until eventually disappearing for good. There is an animation when others collect shards; light-colored beams go into them. Helping other players shard seek by giving them rides now gives the helper bonus shards.
NPCs of the various character races are usually found near houses, though Blood Elves are usually found near caves.
Non-Human NPCs consist of deer, bears, scorpions, golems, and dragons.
