Usage

Though the Engineer unit has one ability, it's use is versatile. Engineers are mainly used in the Survival game mode. Some players will construct walls around their buildings to avoid them being bombarded by the AI units. Others partake in a collaborative effort to make layers of walls on the AI path to stop them from reaching the center.

Strategies

When using Engineers, you are allowed to experiment with the length of your walls. Making a wall with many different wall pieces is far more effective than making a wall made out of just a few pieces.

Until the 4v4 update, players were able to train Engineers in barracks without having walls researched. It is now required to research walls before being able to have Engineers.
