Team chat is a feature of public in-game chat which allows a user to only send messages towards team members, while ignoring other players. It is activated by entering % as the first character of a message. It can also be accessed using the " /t " or " /team " commands.
The Police team picture is based on a Wallpaper from the Jailbreak Page in Roblox. Being a Prisoner is one of three teams in Jailbreak, and one of the two selectable teams. It is also the team players first spawn as before picking their team. However, they can change to the Police team if desired, unless if the Police team is full.
Members of a team can talk amongst each other about team strategies, where players are located, etc. without the other team finding out. Without the use of team chat, other teams would be able to see the messages of team members. You can get out of team chat by pressing ← Backspace in the chatbox.

To switch teams, first click the circular half Prisoner - Police icon on the left side of your screen. A pop-up will then appear in the center of the screen, asking "Are you sure you want to switch teams?". with a yes and no button below. Clicking "No" will return you to normal gameplay.
The Criminal team is made up of escaped Prisoners who intend on planning Robberies and Heists to gain money so that they can purchase Vehicles, Customizations, Weapons, or rent Apartments, all while avoiding being arrested.
You can obtain a keycard by pickpocketing a police officer by pressing E at the police officer's back. You can either steal it and run the risk of being arrested, or you can bribe (give cash to) the officer which will give you 45 seconds to steal the officer's card without being arrested by them.
Robbing the Gas Station 1, Donut Shop, or Bank will add $300 to a criminal's bounty. Breaching the vault in the Cargo Train or breaking the glass on the Passenger Train will add $100 to their bounty. Robbing the Power Plant, or the Cargo Plane will add $500 to a criminal's bounty.

There can only be a limited amount of officers in one server depending on how many players are in the server, a feature to make criminals and officers even. If a player attempts to become a police officer while the team is unbalanced, a green string of text will appear under the 'Play' button saying "Team is full...".
