Before answering this question, let’s talk about what Roblox actually does.
Assessing Roblox’s business is interesting because it’s very much a tale of two cities. On one hand, its revenue has grown over 100% year-over-year (YoY) for 5 quarters in a row. In Q3 2021, it posted revenue of $509.34 million. This was a 102.19% increase from Q2, where it posted $454.1 million.

Your decision to not buy or buy Roblox stock is going to come down to your opinion on the metaverse. For me, I feel as though the metaverse is going to be a necessary evil. It’s something that nobody really asked for but we’re going to get anyway. One quote that helped change my mind was during Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse presentation.
The elephant in the room is that the metaverse doesn’t exist yet. This means that a company like Roblox is mainly riding high on hype alone. Sure, it has consistently made money so far. But will this continue if consumers reject the metaverse? VR headsets are also expensive. What if the bulk of consumers end up getting priced out of participating?

Roblox was already popular with tween users prior to the pandemic, but stay-at-home measures caused its growth in revenue and bookings (the amount of money spent on Robux) to spike last year:
After that roller-coaster start, Roblox now trades in the low $80s, but it remains a divisive stock. The bulls will praise Roblox's popularity with tween users, its overseas expansion plans, and its lack of meaningful competitors. On the other hand, the bears will note that the company's losses are widening, the stock's valuations are frothy, and Roblox faces tough post-pandemic comparisons over the next few quarters.
As Roblox's top-line growth decelerates, investors will likely scrutinize its widening losses and its overwhelming dependence on tween users.

STRONG BUY. Roblox (RBLX-N) May 24, 2021. It did respectably well when it debuted 2.5 months ago, then it was flopping-and-chopping for a while. He recommended it shortly after that debut as the stock found its footing. It has a monster move last week, and popped 8% more today.
He recommended it shortly after that debut as the stock found its footing. It has a monster move last week, and popped 8% more today. It now has great momentum and yes, it's that good. They offer free services, but also subscription ones. He likes this tiered approach. After Q1 results, RBLX shattered the perception that it's a Covid stock. Users generate content and Wall Street likes these companies. Thousands of live-support employees help users, which is far better than other platforms. Numbers: average daily active users was up 79% YOY and hours engaged was even higher, driven up overseas users and children. Free cash flow is over 300% YTD. They won't offer annual guidance yet, though. Use is not slowing at all. Users rose one million between March and April 2021 alone, so the reopening isn't hurting them. Kids love the platform and so do parents. Their launch in China is already beating their expectations. No, RBLX is still not profitable and still burning cash to grow their business. Also, their high cash flow is encouraging. This has a lot more room to run. Buy a small position right now to start.
