The reason why some frustrated Roblox players are blaming Chipotle for today's server outage is quite funny. This past week, Chipotle announced that it had partnered with Roblox to give away $1 million in free burritos through the game.
Starting Thursday and running through Halloween, Roblox users can enter the Chipotle Boorito Maze experience to be one of the first 30,000 users each day to receive a code for a free burrito or other entrée.
"You broke Roblox" lamented another Twitter user, tagging the chain. The replies to Chipotle's promo tweet are filled with people accusing the account of bringing the game down. Chipotle hasn't seemed to acknowledge its part in the Roblox saga at all. Not that it can assist, but a good social media manager knows when there's a meme to be made.
With the launch of Chipotle Burrito Builder, Chipotle is introducing its second custom experience on Roblox and a modular world strategy on the platform. The brand launched the Chipotle Boorito Maze on Roblox in October of 2021.

Some are convinced the Roblox malfunction is Chipotle’s fault and they aren’t hiding their discontent.
In a blog post, the Roblox founder and CEO, David Baszucki, revealed the root cause of the Roblox servers going down and everything surrounding it. It all began on Thursday, October 28, around the afternoon in the Western Hemisphere of the world, with the game going offline.
Fortunately, the Roblox servers are back up and running at the time of writing this, and we have successfully been able to get into the main game selection screen and even into a game. It is playable now, and, hopefully, something like this unprecedented situation for the game will not happen again.
The Roblox outage had nothing to do with the peak numbers of people playing the game, any external experience like someone hacking the title or a DDoS attack, or any other “particular experience,” such as the rumors that Chipotle was somehow causing the issue.
To help with this, a new policy is being implemented immediately to make the “creator community economically whole as a result of this outage.” It is not known how this will happen, but it is presumed that it is there to make sure that creators in Roblox, who are already woefully treated in unfortunate ways, do not suffer too much economically from the loss of these past few days..
