It’s filtering the information that Roblox clients can send to the server. You see, in nonfiltered games, it is common to enter and see the whole game changed, gone, modified by someone hacking.
FilteringEnabled: or, what is being filtered. So about a year ago, Roblox released “FilteringEnabled.” What is FilteringEnabled, well, it enables filtering? What is it filtering? It’s filtering the information that Roblox clients can send to the server.
You see, in nonfiltered games, it is common to enter and see the whole game changed, gone, modified by someone hacking. Yes, that is right, without FilteringEnabled, Roblox will allow one client to tell the server exactly how something is suppose to be, and the server will blindly follow out the command.
When FilteringEnabled is enabled, everything continues to replicate from the server to the client (with a few exceptions such as ServerStorage and ServerScriptStorage ). However, actions made by the client will no longer freely replicate to the server.
Roblox has a text filter feature that not only prevents users from seeing profane or inappropriate messages, but also blocks personally identifiable information. Roblox has many young users who should be safeguarded against sharing or seeing certain content.
Starting with the 478 release of Studio on May 12th, the FilteringEnabled property under Workspace will no longer be displayed in the Properties widget. It will still be accessible by the Lua API until this version has rolled out to all platforms, at which point we will flip a setting to make workspace.
You can't turn it off, it's forced. Changing the FilteringEnabled property in Workspace does nothing. You just need to learn how to optimize your code, and adapt to FE.
Players age 13 and older have the ability to say more words and phrases than younger players. This filtering system covers all areas of communication on Roblox, public and private. The account's age group is displayed in the upper-right corner of the browser as either 13+ or <13.
To enable it click on the Workspace in Studio and in Properties under Behavior they'll be a checkbox called “Filtering Enabled” this is turned on by default whenever you create a new studio file.

Sadly, some users build inappropriate things in this game. In response to this issue, Tinarg made a feature that allows you to block any part of the monster. Blocking a part will locally turn it into a block for you. "Something sad" around 2019 happened when Roblox pushed in an update that had the game broken.

In 2014, Roblox implemented filtering enabled and since then more and more game used filtering enabled. Then in 2018, Roblox forced FE on all games.
NOTE: There is nothing new or changed with the actual chat filter itself. The dropdown menu is currently disabled, meaning you can not change the filtering level.
Items with the 13+ tag ( ) in the Avatar Shop are only available to players who are 13 years of age or older. These items cannot be put up for re-sale or trade. Roblox has thousands of items available for players of all ages and you can see or search for them all by clicking here.
As the game is designed for players of all ages, Roblox includes some safety features to give all players a safe and fun experience.
The reason why Roblox censors just about everything is because it is a game meant for a younger audience. Gaming companies can't legally market their game to children unless it meets the content requirements to do so.
The StreamingEnabled property determines whether game content streaming is enabled for the place. This property is not scriptable and therefore must be set on the Workspace object in Studio. For a detailed explanation of game content streaming, best practices, and implementation notes, see Game Content Streaming.
Network ownership refers to the player that is simulating a part's physics. For example, if Player1 has network ownership over their character (all physics simulations of their own character is done on their own machine). Programmers can set network ownership through SetNetworkOwner() API.
You can do this by clicking on the game you'd like to play and click on the 'Servers' tab. From there, click 'Load More' to find a server with fewer people.
Discord links were blocked due to safety issues, but soon we will be able to link our servers in the social media sections of games which will allow Roblox to control who can view the links. Roblox blocked the word “Discord” in an attempt to prevent users from sharing links, but as you can tell it doesn't help.

Well, as you've probably surmised by this point, Roblox now has voice chat which was just released out of beta -- "Spatial voice chat," to be specific. Spatial voice chat is a feature that alters the volume (and sometimes the sound) of speakers depending on their position relative to you in the game world.
So a lot of developers just can not figure out FilteringEnabled (FE). I believe this is a conceptual issue, and so I am going to explain what Roblox does in the background, to make FE more clear.
The first impression people have of Roblox is that it just “exists” in one world. Like the real world, everything is just there. You move, your friend sees it.
So about a year ago, Roblox released “FilteringEnabled.” What is FilteringEnabled, well, it enables filtering? What is it filtering? It’s filtering the information that Roblox clients can send to the server.
The biggest issue with developing with FilteringEnabled is people not understanding what is happening. As you have read this article, you should understand now how this happens. The developer decides that an event needs to happen, say, a flower needs to appear.
One key fault with the filtering system is that it censors the website search. This is highly impractical as it does not show search results to anybody else but the searcher and it hinders the ability to search for stuff on roblox such as usernames.
Roblox has a chat filter that prohibits players from seeing or sending profanity and restricts personally identifiable information, which replaces the now-discontinued Safe Chat that was previously used to prevent young players from sending messages that were not pre-programmed. Currently, the censored text is replaced with a hashtag symbol (#).
