Despite concerns when R15 was released that R6 would become retired, the Roblox developers announced in multiple blog posts that R6 will always be available to players. R6 was the original body type of all players on Roblox. It gives the player a torso, two legs, two arms, and a head.
An example of an avatar using R6. R6 is the default animation rig. R6 means "6 body parts" or "6 joints". Players can enable this body type when customizing their avatar. Game developers can enable whether an avatar uses the R6 rig, R15, and Rthro and its Unlocked Scaling.
It has been described as the “YouTube for kids,” but it also contains adult-only features like virtual sex, gambling, and trading in-game currency for real money. The “roblox r6 avatar” is a feature on Roblox that allows users to change their avatars.
A game that supports r6 is K.A.T and that’s pretty much all I can think of. I personally dislike r6. It makes avatars look broken. This is just my opinion.
Construction. As the name suggests, R6 avatars are constructed of only 6 parts, giving them a very limited range of animated motion. R15 expands the movement range by splitting the body into 15 parts.
Conversation. We've heard several people say that #Roblox is removing R6 in favor of a new R15 animation. ⚠️ As far as we know this is NOT the case, but we'll have to wait and see. So just to clarify, we don't think R6 is going anytime soon.
Previously, to enable R15, users would go to the Create page, click the Experiences tab, and configure the game with the body type enabled. To set R15 in your experience, open your published experience in Roblox Studio. From there, click on Game Settings and navigate to the Avatar tab.

It's possible that the servers may have had a little hiccup when creating the thumbnails for your avatar. If that's the case, all you should need to do is regenerate them! To do this, simply navigate to your Avatar section and click the "Click here to re-draw it!" link located underneath your avatar's image.
If R15 is going to stunt your game's progress, than R6 would be the better option to get your game out there and get more experience with programming first.
This means that a real-life Robloxian would be 1.4 meters, or 140 centimeters tall.

BodyTypeScale is a NumberValue attached to Humanoid that controls how much the character is to be modified from a standard R15 body shape. When set to 0, the character appears as a standard R15. When set to 1, the character is taller and more slender.
Scaling in Roblox Studio By default, all games that support R15 characters allow players to use the avatar scale that they set on the Avatar page. If your game only allows R6, characters will always be the default height and width.
The easiest way to get the old R15 walking animations is by going to game settings, clicking “avatar”, changing the animation from “Player Choice” to “Standard”.
Targeted Wiki (Games) The default animation rig is R6. R6 stands for “six bodily components” or “six joints.” When creating their avatar, players may choose to have this body type. The R6 rig, R15 rig, and Rthro rig, as well as its Unlocked Scaling, may be enabled by game creators.
BodyTypeScale is a NumberValue connected to Humanoid that determines how much the character’s body form is adjusted from a conventional R15 body shape. When the value is 0 (zero), the character seems to be a regular R15. When the value is 1, the character becomes taller and slimmer.
1 Stud is 0.28 meters long, according to the most recent Roblox measurements. As a result, a 5 stud Roblox character stands 140 cm (4 feet 7 inches) tall.
1a: charmingly slight, particularly in frame or skin. b: in relation to length or height, tiny or narrow in circumference or breadth. 2: insufficient in quantity or scope: poor people with restricted resources.
At default letter scale, there are 3 and 1/3 studs in a meter based on that measure. According to the ROBLOX Blog, one meter equals 20 ROBLOX studs, which means that a stud is 5 cm tall, and a real-life ROBLOXian (who is 5 studs tall) is 25 centimeters tall, or around 10 inches tall.

R15 allows you to dive into realism, which can improve quality. However, to make quality GFX with R15 style, you will spend more time. R6 GFXs are mostly used in RP games or games like Murder Mystery. I personally think, that R15 are better.
R6 can be easily rigged and used to create relatively complex poses but as far as I know has textures lower resolution textures compared to R15 (At least when it comes to faces)
Most GFX artists don’t use R6 or R15, they use a custom Rig, that can bend it’s limbs. You need a R6 Texture to apply to the custom rig, so that’s why people export their characters in R6. I personally prefer R15 GFX’s since they are more customisable than R6 in a sense.
So, if you’re doing a GFX with Paint RIG then you must use R6 as the Rig will make it work like R15. If you want to make good looking GFX renders then I’d definitely recommend using the Paint RIG for that you have to use R6 character. Trust me, it’ll look great.

An example of an avatar using R15. R15 is an avatar body and animation rig in Roblox, which has more joints than R6 and is able to bend. The model is named after the number of body parts it has (15 parts) instead of 6 (R6). The model was available to the public early in the form of a testing place.
Roblox introduced two new sliders to the R15 scaling interface on May 30, 2018, with the attributes of Body Type and Proportions. These have been subject to speculation as some users believe this is an indication of Rthro being released soon.
Many users took to the Forums to voice their complaints and rants. However, R15 is completely optional with the exception of games that are R15-only, plus there are different animation packs available in the catalog that can make this body type look more appealing for those who dislike the original animation.
A small portion of these users thought it would make Roblox harder to run on old systems, however; for most this was not much of a problem. Many people felt that the stock animation was awkward, ugly, and did not suit Roblox well, hence the title, Roblox.
The introduction of R15 is also the first time Roblox avatars have had bendable limbs. In the past, they were only in staged, pre-rendered promotional adverts and a select few games. Some games allowed R15 when it wasn't released to everyone, the most notable one being Trade Hangout by Merely.
